Summary

Pokémon Go (Pokémon GO) is a game for handheld mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. In the game, players can catch virtual fantasy creatures (Pokémon), develop them and compete against each other in virtual battles. Pokémon Go was developed by the software company Niantic for the operating systems iOS and Android.

It is a location-based game and uses a game environment based on the principle of augmented reality. The game uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) and real-time localization to determine the player's location data and positions him virtually on a map based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played in the reception area of the GPS signal, usually outdoors, and uses sights, landmarks and conspicuous objects of the material world to create a virtual game world.

How We Check

The server status is checked every 60 seconds from three different locations in Europe (Frankfurt, Germany), America (Oregon, USA) and Asia (Tokyo, Japan) to ensure the highest possible accuracy. I am planning to expand to other locations. When the server is not responding to the majority of locations within ten seconds, it is declared as offline.
All servers are hosted on the Google Cloud Platform!
